Starting my TJ surgery journeysharing what I’ve learned
I’m just starting to explore the idea of getting breast augmentation in Tijuana, and wow… there is so much to take in. Sharing what I’ve learned so far in case it helps someone else who’s just starting too 🙋🏻♀️
📝 Top 5 things I didn’t know before I started looking:
1. Most people drive across the border, not fly. I assumed I’d have to fly into Mexico, but if you’re near San Diego, driving is way more common.
2. Recovery houses are a thing. They’re like Airbnb-meets-nurse for post-op patients. Some look super basic, some look really nice. Definitely adding this to my research list.
3. You don’t need to speak Spanishbut it helps. Most clinics have English-speaking staff, but all the pharmacy labels, Ubers, and recovery instructions may be in Spanish. Not a dealbreaker, but something to plan for.
4. Consultations happen over WhatsApp. This caught me off guard! Most clinics seem to prefer voice notes + photos through WhatsApp instead of email or phone.
5. Prices are usually “all-inclusive”… but always ask. Some quotes include anesthesia, garments, recovery stay, and meds. Others don’t. Ask for a breakdown so you don’t get surprised.
I’m still in research mode and haven’t booked anything yet,
but I already feel way more empowered knowing what to look out for. If anyone has a favorite clinic or recovery house in TJ, I’d love to hear it! 😊
